Southeast Michigan Land Conservancy The Southeast Michigan Land Conservancy conserves natural land and open space -- including forests, wetlands, meadows, agricultural lands, and places of scenic beauty -- to provide habitat for wildlife and to enrich the lives of people.

Charitable gifts to the Southeast Michigan Land Conservancy are critical to furthering our mission of protecting land in southeast Michigan. Tax-deductable donations are used to fund new land protection projects, to support the care and maintenance of our nature preserves, to educate the community about the importance of land conservation, and to help build our Endowment Fund, so we can all rest assured that the land we save will be protected forever. Donating land for conservation purposes is truly one of the finest legacies a person can leave to future generations. It may be the best conservation strategy for you if you do not wish to pass the land on to heirs; own property you no longer use; own highly appreciated property; have substantial real estate holdings and wish to reduce estate tax burdens; or would like to be relieved of the responsibility of managing and caring for land. From lawn mowers to bottled water, the Conservancy benefits from non-cash gifts from our supporters. These gifts help minimize our day-to-day expenses, so we have more resources for large mission-driven projects. Right now, for example, we could use the following items for our spring and summer stewardship projects:
o 6’ x 14’ utility trailer (est. value $3000)
o 6 or 8 inch gas-powered auger (est. value $300) o 3 point hitch tractor wood chipper attachment (est. value $2500)
o Backpack sprayer and harness (est. value $200)
o Fire equipment and PPE (est. value $1000)
