Charitable gifts to the Southeast Michigan Land Conservancy are critical to furthering our mission of protecting land in southeast Michigan. Tax-deductible donations are used to fund new land protection projects, sterawd SMLC nature preserves, raise awareness about the importance of land conservation, and support our annual operations, so we can all rest assured that the land we save will be protected forever. If you would like to make a gift to SMLC, consider the following giving options:

Unrestricted—used where SMLC needs it most in any given year

Land Protection—helps cover the costs related to general land protection activities including the Land Acquisition Program and working with our conservation partners

Stewardship—funds the stewardship program

Superior Township Fund—for work that is done in Superior Township including outreach activities and special projects

Stewardship Endowment Fund—funds SMLC's protected lands inperpetuity

SMLC also periodically engages in public fundraising campaigns to support land acquisition, land stewardship and other special projects.

Donate Land

(from https://landtrustalliance.org/take-action/conserve-your-land/how-to-conserve-your-land)

Donating land for conservation purposes is truly one of the finest legacies a person can leave to future generations. It may be the best conservation strategy for you if you do not wish to pass the land on to heirs; own property you no longer use; own highly appreciated property; have substantial real estate holdings and wish to reduce estate tax burdens; or would like to be relieved of the responsibility of managing and caring for land.
